Museu Nacional

The Museu Nacional was created in 1818. Its collections, covering c. 20 million artefacts and specimens, encompass natural history, archaeology, egyptology, anthropology, scientific instruments, as well as historical archives and libraries. On 2 September 2018, the Museu Nacional was partly consumed by a tragic fire. However, it is totally mobilised towards its reconstruction.
